Privacy Policy — Dice App
Last updated: April 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Dice (the “App”) handles information when you use it. It applies to the mobile application distributed by Rex App Inc (“we,” “us,” or “our”) through the Apple App Store.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
1. Summary
The App is designed to roll dice and optionally keep a simple roll log on your device.
We do not require you to create an account. Most information you enter in the App is stored only on your device and is not sent to our servers by the App, because we do not operate a backend for core App features as described below.
2. Information the App processes
2.1 Information you provide in the App
Depending on how you use the App, you may enter:
- Dice settings (for example, number of dice and die type)
- Roll log entries, which may include:
- A short description of what the roll was for
- Names or labels you type for people involved (free text)
- Automatically generated roll summaries (for example, dice configuration and results)
- Timestamps when you save an entry
You choose what to type. Do not enter sensitive personal information (such as health, financial, or government ID data) unless you are comfortable storing it locally on your device.
2.2 Information stored on your device
The App uses local storage on your device (for example, device storage mechanisms provided by the operating system) to save:
- Your preferences
- Your roll log entries
This data stays on your device unless you delete it in the App, delete the App, or remove it through your device or backup tools.
3. How we use this information
We use the information only so the App can function:
- To perform dice rolls and show results
- To remember your settings
- To show, edit, and delete your roll log on your device
We do not use this information to sell your personal information, and we do not run behavioral advertising inside the App based on your roll log.
4. Internet, links, and websites
Dice rolling and the roll log do not require an internet connection to work.
The App may include a link to our website (for example, dicetheory.org). If you tap that link, your browser will open and normal website and network practices apply to that page. That activity is governed by this policy only where it describes our practices; the website may have its own notices (for example, analytics or cookies on the site itself).
5. Analytics, crash reports, and device data
In-app analytics: The App does not use custom third-party analytics SDKs to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and your App Store privacy disclosures accordingly.
Apple and your device: Your device manufacturer and platform provider (for example, Apple) may collect diagnostics, usage, or crash information according to your device and App Store settings (for example, “Share Analytics” or similar). That collection is controlled by Apple’s policies and your choices, not by us in the App’s local storage.
6. Data retention and deletion
On your device: You can edit or delete roll log entries inside the App. Uninstalling the App may erase locally stored data unless it is restored from a device backup you control (for example, phone backup features).
On our side: Because core App data described here is stored locally, we do not hold a copy of your roll log on our servers for those features.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App in a way that requires an account. If you believe we should remove information provided in error, contact us at dice-theory@tryrex.app.
8. International users
If you use the App outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and on your device according to this policy and applicable platform rules.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal data (for example, access or deletion). Because the roll log is stored on your device, you can often delete it directly in the App or by removing the App / managing device backups.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on https://dicetheory.org/dice-app-privacy-policy.html and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will take additional steps as required by law or platform rules.
